Covington's Homeless - Photos of the homeless community in Covington, KY circa 1994

Rodney Derr is another homeless man who has moved from the streets to an apartment in Covington. Rodney gets a check each month from Social Security because he is disabled and can't get a job. He became disabled and homeless after five PCP overdoses left his nervous system impaired. Sister Kathy Bauer, of the Welcome House, acts as Rodney's payee. As his payee she receives his disability checks, and pays his rent and utility bills. He also gets an allowance from her to buy food and other necessities. The staff at the Welcome House has almost 100 payees in it's program.
