Most of his days were spent at his camp drinking beer and looking for wood to build fires. His camp was near a convenience store which was across the flood wall from where he lived. He would regularly visit the dumpster of the store to look for food and newspapers. DJ liked to keep up on current events and read day old papers regularly. He would eat the food he found in the dumpsters, preferring this over the food at the soup kitchens in town.
